Common use of Certification and Licensing Clause in Contracts

Certification and Licensing. All Radiation Therapists, as a condition of their continued employment with the Hospital are required to present annually to their Department Head or designate proof of: • Current certification and licensing (MRT(T)/MRT(MR) with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (C.M.R.T.O.) • CPR certification Proof of current certifications that are eligible under the conditions described under the Education Premium in Article 22.02 must be presented by January 31st each year. Proof of CMRTO registration must be submitted within thirty (30) calendar days of the individual’s renewal date (birthday). An employee who fails to provide above proofs by the stipulated date will be placed on non-disciplinary suspension without pay. If the employee presents evidence of certification and licensing within ninety (90) calendar days of such suspension, the employee shall be reinstated to his or her former position effective upon presenting such evidence to the Employer. Failure to provide evidence of certification and licensing within ninety (90) calendar days of the non- disciplinary suspension will result in the employee being deemed no longer qualified and the employee shall be terminated from the employ of the hospital. All Radiation Therapists must have CPR certification prior to commencing employment with the Hospital. Thereafter, the Hospital will reimburse the employee for recertification. It is understood that this recertification shall be scheduled during regular work hours or shall be paid the straight time hourly rate.
