CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP AND DUES. 9.§1 Nothing contained in this Article shall be deemed as requiring a bargaining unit faculty member, as a condition of obtaining or continuing employment with the University, to (a) refrain or resign from membership in, voluntary affiliation with, or voluntary financial support for the Chapter; (b) become or remain a member of the Chapter; (c) pay any uniformly assessed dues, fees, assessments or other charges or expenses of any kind or amount, or provide anything of value to the Chapter; (d) pay to any charitable organization or third party any amount that is in lieu of or equivalent to any portion of dues, fees or assessments or other charges or expenses required of Chapter members. A bargaining unit faculty member’s choice will be respected and will not be cause for harassment or discrimination.
