Common use of CHILD LABOR AND FORCED LABOR Clause in Contracts

CHILD LABOR AND FORCED LABOR. SELLER shall not employ children, prison labor, indentured labor, bonded labor or use corporal punishment or other forms of mental and physical coercion as a form of discipline. In the absence of any national or local law, BUYER and SELLER agree to define “child” as less than 15 years of age. If local LAW sets the minimum age below 15 years of age, but is in accordance with exceptions under International Labor Organization Convention 138, the lower age will apply. BUYER has the right to make unannounced inspections, and conduct appropriate audits of books and records, of all of SELLER’S premises and any other premises employed in connection with SELLER’s performance under this AGREEMENT, to ensure compliance with this Section. With respect to the obligations set forth in this Section 9.4, SELLER shall comply with any reasonable code of conduct or similar policy statement promulgated by BUYER from time to time.
