Common use of Civil Litigation Clause in Contracts

Civil Litigation. If the employee is acting within the scope of his or her duties and is named as a defendant in a civil lawsuit, the District shall provide legal counsel of its choosing to the employee in connection with the lawsuit. However, if at any point it is determined that there exists a conflict of interest between the employee and the District, or the employee has acted outside the scope of his or her duties, the District shall withdraw said representation and shall have no further obligation to the employee.
