CLASS SIZE - CLASS LOAD. Within the budgetary and financial limitations of the school district, the Board shall continue its effort toward meeting Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation standards in regard to class size. If an individual teacher's class load exceeds the Southern Association's accreditation standards by more than 10 percent the teacher may appeal to the administration for relief of this situation; and if a teacher's class load is 10 percent less than the Southern Association's standards, he/she shall cooperate with the administration in correcting inequalities in class size.

CLASS SIZE - CLASS LOAD. 8.01 Class size shall not be used as a punitive measure against an employee. Within a given site, the administration shall provide equitable teaching loads to employees teaching identical courses, consistent with considerations of scheduling, curriculum, teacher concerns and preferences, student needs and preferences, and physical space constraints. 8.02 Any high school or middle school employee whose assignment consists primarily of student instruction shall have an instructional supervisory load during the student day that does not exceed five (5) hours and fifteen (15) minutes of pupil-teacher contact time and that includes a preparation/conference period. Teachers assigned primarily to traditional instruction shall have no more than three (3) different course preparations; those assigned to use other instructional delivery models such as computerized instruction may have more than three (3) course preparations depending upon the delivery model and what is entailed as a “preparation” under that model. Other high school and middle school employees whose assignments do not consist primarily of instruction (such as guidance counselors and media specialists) shall be provided the opportunity in their normal workday to schedule time in which interaction with students and parents is limited to facilitate planning and preparation. Supervised study periods (study halls) or other supervisory assignments shall be considered a part of the instructional supervisory load except where such assignments constitute the majority of the employee’s assigned duties. Individual employees may agree in writing to instructional supervisory loads that differ from those above. Beginning with FY 2017 Xxxx County Schools and Xxxx Classroom Teachers Association will establish a committee to develop an implementation plan that may transition all instructional employees, whose primary assignment is student instruction, to a supervisory load consistent across all grade levels. CLASS SIZE - CLASS LOAD. 091 Class Size The Liberty Board of Education agrees that reduced class size promotes quality education. The Board will endeavor to maintain a class sizes within the parameters of state law and regulations. To address safety issues, any time the student roster exceeds thirty-five (35) in the Liberty High School study hall, the administration will make reasonable efforts to schedule students to keep the number of students in the study hall practical.

If one class exceeds the numbers in the elementary, the decision to divide the class will depend on the average of the classes as a total. If the average is above the total for classes, then a decision will be made by the School Board. If the total of students in the secondary school exceeds the 160 students per day, then confirmation must be received by the secondary certification standards board or the state department.

Secondary teachers shall not be assigned more than three (3) different preparations per day, unless the teacher agrees due to special circumstances. Music, art, and physical education are not limited by this provision. It is understood that combined level classes meeting during the same period will constitute one preparation for each level. 4. Students at all levels shall be assigned to available classrooms in an equitable manner within each building.
CLASS SIZE - CLASS LOAD. 6.1 The parties recognize that class size is a level of service and is the responsibility of the Board. Optimum class size is the goal of both the Association and the Board. 6.2 The administration will attempt, where possible, to balance the load between teachers teaching identical courses on the same level during the same period. 6.3 The Board will make every effort to be in compliance with state mandates of class size/class load reduction. 6.4 Any teacher may refer any student to the Response to Intervention/Student Support Team in accordance to the Jackson County RTI processes and procedures.

CLASS SIZE - CLASS LOAD. Student assignment shall be made in accordance with Ohio Law and 3310-35-03(H) (3) (A) of the state minimum standards. The Board agrees to provide to the Xxxx Education Association by October 31 class size compliance data as reported to the state. This data will include the method of counting used to show compliance, a list of staff and position each holds that was used in doing the computation required, and the actual computation reflecting compliance. The maximum class load per day in classes of members at Xxxx High School, excluding classes of those members who teach music, and physical education, shall be ninety (90) students. This maximum of ninety (90) students applies only as long as the high school is using the block schedule.
