Coma Benefit. If an Insured Person suffers a Coma due to an Injury suffered during the Policy Period solely and directly due to an Accident that occurs during the Policy Period, We will pay an amount equal to the Sum Insured in respect of that Insured Person, provided that: (a) This diagnosis of Coma by a Medical Practitioner is supported by all of the following: (i) no response to external stimuli continuously for at least 96 hours; (ii) life support measures are necessary to sustain life; and (iii) permanent neurological deficit which is assessed at least 30 days afterthe onset of the Coma. (b) The condition of Coma is confirmed by a specialist Medical Practitioner in writing. (c) The Coma does not result from alcohol/ drug abuse or due to an Illness. For the purpose of this Benefit, Coma means a state of unconsciousness with no reaction or response to external stimuli or internal needs.
