Common use of Compensation Certificate Clause in Contracts

Compensation Certificate. I am aware of the provisions of Section 3700 of the Labor Code that require every employer to be insured against liability for workers’ compensation or to undertake self- insurance in accordance with the provisions of that Code, and I will comply with such provisions before commencing any services required by this Agreement. The person executing this certificate on behalf of Contractor affirmatively represents that she/he has the requisite legal authority to do so on behalf of Contractor, both the person executing this Agreement on behalf of Contractor and Contractor understand that the County is relying on this representation in entering into this Agreement.
