Common use of Compensation Certificate Clause in Contracts

Compensation Certificate. I am aware of the provisions of the California Labor Code, Section 3700 that requires every employer to be insured against liability for workers' compensation or to undertake self-insurance in accordance with the provisions of that code, and I will comply with such provisions before commencing any services required by this Agreement. The person executing this certificate on behalf of Contractor affirmatively represents that she/he has the requisite legal authority to do so on behalf of Contractor; both the person executing this Agreement on behalf of Contractor and Contractor understand that the County is relying on this representation in entering into this Agreement.
