Compressed Air Cleanliness. 1. Provide compressed air that is free from moisture and oil contamination. 2. Conduct a white blotter test in accordance with ASTM D4285 to verify the cleanliness of the compressed air. Conduct the test at least once per shift for each compressor system. Sufficient freedom from oil and moisture is confirmed if soiling or discoloration are not visible on the paper. 3. If air contamination is evidenced, change filters, clean traps, add moisture separators or filters, or make other adjustments as necessary to achieve clean, dry air.
