Concurrent Jurisdiction. 1. The Special Court and the national courts of Sierra Leone shall have concurrent jurisdiction. 2. The Special Court shall have primacy over the national courts of Sierra Leone. At any stage of the procedure, the Special Court may formally request a national court to defer to its competence in accordance with the present Statute and the Rules of Procedure and Evidence.
