Common use of Consultant as Independent Contractor Clause in Contracts

Consultant as Independent Contractor. The OWNER has selected CONSULTANT on the basis of demonstrated competence and qualifications to perform the services herein described for a fair and reasonable price pursuant to Chapter 2254 of the Texas Government Code. The OWNER hereby contracts with the CONSULTANT as an independent contractor and not as an employee, and as such, the OWNER will not assert control over the day-to-day operations of the CONSULTANT.
