Common use of Conventions and Seminars Clause in Contracts

Conventions and Seminars. Subject to the approval of the Designated Authority and upon written request at least fourteen (14) days in advance, leave of absence without pay or loss of seniority shall be granted to not more than two (2) employees at any one time who may be elected or appointed by the Union to attend any authorized labour convention or educational seminar. Such leave of absence is to be confined to the actual duration of the convention or educational seminar and the necessary travelling time. Such leave shall not exceed ten (10) working days for each convention or seminar for each employee to whom such leave is granted.
