Cooperation In the Field of Agriculture. 1. The Parties, recognizing that the development in thefield of agriculture in both Parties is of mutual interestand of economic and social importance for the rational andsustainable use of natural resources, shall cooperate inthe field of agriculture. Such cooperation may include: (a) exchange of information and data regardingexperience of rural development, know-how offinancial assistance to farmers and the agricultural cooperatives system; (b) encouragement of dialogues and exchange ofinformation between entities other than the Governments of the Parties concerningagriculture; and (c) encouragement of joint scientific andtechnological research in agriculture includingnew technologies. 2. For the purposes of the effective implementation andoperation of this Article, a Sub-Committee on Cooperationin the Field of Agriculture (hereinafter referred to in this Article as "the Sub-Committee") shall be establishedpursuant to Article 165. 3. The functions of the Sub-Committee shall be: (a) reviewing the implementation and operation ofthis Article; (b) discussing any issues related to this Article; (c) reporting the findings of the Sub-Committee tothe Joint Committee; and (d) carrying out other functions which may bedelegated by the Joint Committee pursuant toArticle 165. 1. The Parties, recognizing that tourism will contributeto the enhancement of mutual understanding between them andthat tourism is an important industry for their economies,shall cooperate to promote and develop tourism in theParties. Such cooperation may include: (a) exchange of information on: (i) activities and policies, including bestpractices, concerning market research,sustainable development of tourism and thestrengthening of the competitiveness of thetourism industry; and (ii) laws, regulations and statistics on tourism; (b) provision of appropriate assistance for tourismpromotion campaigns; (c) encouragement of cooperation between entitiesother than the Governments of the Parties concerning the promotion and development oftourism; and (d) encouragement of training of persons engaged inthe tourism industry.
