Coping Strategies. The participants discussed a variety of coping methods throughout the interviews. A few participants (n=5) discussed they would cope with stress by making a list of their responsibilities of the week, and then scheduling those responsibilities and activities. A vast number of the participants (n=15) discussed that they cope with stress by engaging in activities with their friends and peers. Several participants (n=7) discussed that they would busy themselves with other activities including learning a new instrument, taking extra classes, cooking, watching Netflix, and others. They discussed that they would push off the stress to another day, not actually dealing and coping with it, in order to be engaged with other activities. A few participants (n=3) stated that they had no way of coping with stress, and would usually end up crying due to the stress or thinking about it consistently. Although majority of the participants (n=13) believed that their coping skills were effective, a few believed that their coping skills could be more efficient (n=3) and wanted to know what others did to cope with stress.

One woman said she does not lose hope and that she “continue[s] moving forward, I don’t I don’t pay too much attention to this” (36-year-old woman, experienced IPV). Religion is a coping mechanism for three participants. Their faith in God provides them hope. “God does not abandon us” (24-year- old woman, did not experience IPV). “
Coping Strategies. Women reported various strategies for coping with FIS. Four women reported seeking assistance from family, friends, neighbors, and community members. One woman sought help from her mother when she was “economically squeezed” (33-year-old woman, experienced IPV) and had difficulty accessing food. Another woman sought assistance from her aunt to ensure that her children do not go to bed hungry. Two other women reported borrowing money from relatives or neighbors to purchase food. As one participants said, “we ask relatives that have more immediate opportunities, a neighbor that has more resources and so they do you the favor…they collaborate” (24-year-old woman, did not experience IPV). One participant receives assistance from her church when her family is going through a difficult period. Another coping strategy the women utilize is consuming foods produced on their farms. For example, consuming crops such as yucca, plantains, and tomatoes, eggs from hens, and hens for meat. One woman said, “and if one doesn’t have meat, I have the hen so one…well I I kill one and well I make it for the meal” (32-year-old woman, did not experience IPV). Another woman said, “well if there’s no money for the market well the farm gives us food…there’s hen, bananas, yucca” (36-year-old woman, experienced IPV). Another coping strategy reported, was purchasing items, particularly grains, in bulk. This helps to ensure that they have food until the end of the month. One woman reported rationing food until they have enough money to purchase more. Another participant reported inventing soups with the ingredients that she has -- “so when there’s not, well enough to prepare a meal, the typical thing that one always prepares…ah well, one invents a soup” (32-year-old woman, did not experience IPV). She said that while the invented soup is not the best meal, it does mean that her children do not go to bed hungry. Three participants reported ways FIS affects them and their families. One participant said, “well it always produces a lot of stress” (33-year-old woman, experienced IPV). Another woman said that her ten-year-old son’s “weight is very high…it’s that the food, there’s no balanced diet, I mean he’s always eating the same thing” (45-year-old woman, experienced IPV). She discussed how she knows that her sons require a balanced diet. She wants to provide this for them but she’s unable to due to limited financial resources and the cost of healthy foods.   • Product Development (a) Supplier may develop enhancements it intends to incorporate into the BioGlue Surgical Adhesive during the term of this Agreement that have potential application to the Company Product (“Enhancements”). Unless otherwise agreed by the parties, at least once every six months during the Term, representatives of each of BioForm and Supplier shall hold a meeting in accordance with Sections 4.4 and 8.4 (the “Product Development Meeting”) at which Supplier will present Enhancements for BioForm to consider for application to the Company Product. At such Product Development Meeting, BioForm will also present its marketing plans (pursuant to Section 4.4) for the period and any information or feedback that BioForm reasonably believes may lead to Improvements. Within 30 calendar days following each Product Development Meeting, Supplier shall deliver a notice to BioForm (the “Enhancements Notice”) that shall describe the Enhancements that were presented by Supplier at such Product Development Meeting. Within 30 calendar days following receipt of the Enhancements Notice, BioForm may notify Supplier in writing if BioForm elects that any Enhancement described in the Enhancements Notice shall become an Improvement. If BioForm does provide such notice to Supplier during such 30-calendar day period, then BioForm and Supplier shall agree on a timeline for implementation of the Improvement in new Product Specifications for Company Product. If BioForm does not provide such a notice, said Enhancement shall not be implemented into the Company Product. The Enhancements Notice may also describe any potential Enhancements presented by Supplier at the Product Development Meeting, but BioForm shall not be required to take any action under this Section 8.4 with respect to such potential Enhancements until such time as they are presented by Supplier as Enhancements at a future Product Development Meeting. All Enhancements and potential Enhancement information provided by Supplier shall be considered Supplier Confidential Information. (b) From time to time, each party may request the other party to participate in joint projects to develop Improvements. BioForm hereby grants to Supplier a perpetual, royalty free, world-wide, nonexclusive license to Supplier under such Blocking Intellectual Property to make, use, and sell such Intellectual Property outside the Field. “Blocking Intellectual Property” for the purposes of Section 8.4(c)(iii) shall mean Intellectual Property necessary for Supplier to make, use, or sell SA Product.

  • Marketing Vendor agrees to allow TIPS to use their name and logo within the TIPS website, database, marketing materials, and advertisements unless Vendor negotiates this term to include a specific acceptable-use directive. Any use of TIPS’ name and logo or any form of publicity, inclusive of press release, regarding this Agreement by Vendor must have prior approval from TIPS which will not be unreasonably withheld. Request may be made by email to xxxx@xxxx-xxx.xxx. For marketing efforts directed to TIPS Members, Vendor must request and execute a separate Joint Marketing Disclaimer, at xxxxxxxxx@xxxx-xxx.xxx, before TIPS can release contact information for TIPS Member entities for the purpose of marketing your TIPS contract(s). Vendor must adhere to strict Marketing Requirements once a disclaimer is executed. The Joint Marketing Disclaimer is a supplemental agreement specific to joint marketing efforts and has no effect on the terms of the TIPS Vendor Agreement. Vendor agrees that any images, photos, writing, audio, clip art, music, or any other intellectual property (“Property”) or Vendor Data utilized, provided, or approved by Vendor during the course of the joint marketing efforts are either the exclusive property of Vendor, or Vendor has all necessary rights, license, and permissions to utilize said Property in the joint marketing efforts.   • Manufacturing (a) The Supplier shall without limitation be responsible, at no additional cost to the Purchaser, for: sourcing and procuring all raw materials for the Products; obtaining all necessary approvals, permits and licenses for the manufacturing of the Products; providing sufficient qualified staff and workers to perform the obligations under this Purchase Agreement; implementing and maintaining effective inventory and production control procedures with respect to the Products; and handling other matters as reasonably requested by the Purchaser from time to time. (b) The Supplier shall not change any process, material, component, packaging or manufacturing location without the Purchaser’s express prior written approval.

  • Research Analyst Independence The Company acknowledges that the Underwriters’ research analysts and research departments are required to be independent from their respective investment banking divisions and are subject to certain regulations and internal policies, and that such Underwriters’ research analysts may hold views and make statements or investment recommendations and/or publish research reports with respect to the Company and/or the offering that differ from the views of their respective investment banking divisions. The Company hereby waives and releases, to the fullest extent permitted by law, any claims that the Company may have against the Underwriters with respect to any conflict of interest that may arise from the fact that the views expressed by their independent research analysts and research departments may be different from or inconsistent with the views or advice communicated to the Company by such Underwriters’ investment banking divisions. The Company acknowledges that each of the Underwriters is a full service securities firm and as such from time to time, subject to applicable securities laws, may effect transactions for its own account or the account of its customers and hold long or short positions in debt or equity securities of the companies that may be the subject of the transactions contemplated by this Agreement.
