Covering Colleague’s Classes. When requests made and/or approved by administration to cover classes when substitutes are not available results in the loss of a planning period and drops a teacher below 5 per week, compensation will be made at a rate of (base salary / number of contract days / 7.25 x .75 = compensation rate per period). (See ROP 2000) With regards to the elementary building, when requests made and/or approved by administration to cover classes when substitutes are not available results in the simultaneous instruction of additional classrooms not on the teacher’s schedule, a teacher shall be compensated at a rate of the current substitute rate x percent of day.
