Common use of CPI Clause in Contracts

CPI. If the CPI increase exceeds three percent (3%) then the Employer shall pay employees at top rate in Production Clerk and Specialty Department Clerk classifications one half cent ($0.005) per hour paid for each one-third of one percent (0.333%) that the CPI increase exceeds three percent (3%). In all other classifications, the Employer shall pay employees at top rate of their classification one cent ($0.01) per hour paid for each one-third of one percent (0.333%) that the CPI increase exceeds three percent (3%). Hours paid shall mean the hours paid in the fifty-two (52) weeks prior to March 28, 2004.
