CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. 43.01 Courses for which students may be granted flexible credit shall be restricted to those offered through traditional seat time within the District, unless such a restriction is prohibited by State law and/or applicable regulations.
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. 2.9.1 Any students seeking flex class shall complete a Project Application to be reviewed by the Flexible Credit Committee.
2.9.2 After review and approval by the Flexible Credit Committee of the Project Applications, students shall receive the credit approved by the Committee for completion of the project.
2.9.3 As per the district Credit Flex Policy, a teacher of record shall be assigned to the students with a non-bargaining unit member continuing to facilitate the project for the students.
2.9.4 Courses offered for credit on Euclid City School property shall be taught only by certified bargaining unit members.
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. The Association and the Board agree to the following regarding the offering of a credit flexibility program within the District in accordance with the State Board of Education's credit flexibility plan:
A. Flexible credit shall only be available to students for courses currently offered by the District in its regular vocational programs.
B. The Curriculum Supervisor will review and approve/disapprove student Flexible Credit applications.
C. No teacher shall be required to serve as a teacher of record. Only a teacher who is certified/licensed in the area of flexible credit sought shall be assigned as the teacher of record.
D. The teacher of record will be paid a stipend of $200.00 per student for credit sought for work associated with a student's Flexible Credit Plan. Such work shall be accomplished outside of the regular workday/work year. The teacher of record will receive such payment at final course completion whether or not the student earns credit for the course.
E. The Board's policy on Credit Flexibility shall empower the teacher of record to make the determination about whether credit is/is not granted and what grade is assigned, if applicable, or level of mastery achieved, if applicable. Further, the Board's policy shall require that any student participating in a Flexible Credit plan of study report at least at minimum, regular intervals with the teacher of record regarding the student's progress. The policy shall also require that the teacher of record and the student identify and agree on the learning outcomes that align with the District's approved curriculum in the context of the student's plan and how those outcomes will be assessed, which shall be documented on a form to be created by the Curriculum Supervisor.
F. In the event that a student fails to achieve credit and appeals the decision of the teacher of record, such appeal shall go exclusively to the Curriculum Supervisor, whose decision shall be final.
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. 1. A joint high school Credit Flexibility Development Committee (CFDC) shall be established to oversee and review credit flexibility plans for students desiring high school credits under the Credit Flexibility Program. The Committee will be made up of Administration and Association members. Standing Association members will be appointed by the Association President. Other participants may be invited to participate as plan/committee needs require.
2. CFDC members shall have the opportunity to attend training related to performance of their duties, subject to the Superintendent's approval. Where such training occurs during the regular workday, paid release time shall be granted not subject to any Professional Leave restrictions but subject to the approval of the Superintendent, whose approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
3. For all committee work outside of the regular work day CFDC members will be paid twenty dollars ($20.00) per hour.
4. The committee will report to the Labor Management Committee on a monthly basis detailing committee work, concerns, and recommendations regarding the Credit Flexibility program.
5. Teachers having responsibility for an individual student credit flexibility plan will be compensated at a rate developed and mutually agreed upon by the Administration and Association members of the Labor Management Committee.
6. Teachers responsible for an individual student credit flexibility plan will have the opportunities to consult with and otherwise assist the assigned student on a regular basis, with adequate time allocated for such consultation and assistance. Contact time will be maximized at the beginning of the plan program. Teachers of record may meet with their students during their planning time (at the teacher's discretion), during the instructional day, or at the beginning or the end of the regular school day.
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. The purpose of Credit Flexibility is to offer students a variety of learning opportunities either within or outside of the traditional classroom. If a student is enrolled in Option C and the unit member’s job duties are required to be completed outside of the teacher’s regular contract day and are in addition to a regular, full-time teaching assignment, the teacher shall be compensated as follows: Step BA 0 not to exceed twenty (20) hours The teacher of record shall determine final credit, except for students utilizing Option B, the test out provision. Credit Flexibility courses are for credits. Credit Flexibility is not a means to eliminate existing courses offered in the regular classrooms. Teaching experience in the desired content area is preferred, and for core academic subjects, a teacher must be highly qualified (HQT). The two exceptions are if a student is enrolled in online coursework for Option C, or if a student is enrolled in an interactive distance learning course, the teacher need not be HQT. Core academic subjects as outlined by ODE include the following: English language arts, science, mathematics, fine arts (dance, music, drama, visual arts), foreign language, government, history, economics, and geography.
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. 53.01 The Credit Flex Committee, consisting of the High School Principal (or designee), the High School Department Chairpersons, one (1) High School Guidance Counselor, and any identified Teacher of Record shall be convened to review all plans and applications which are submitted by students wishing to participate in the District’s Credit Flexibility Program.
53.02 Credit Flex Committee members who are bargaining unit members will be compensated at the special project stipend rate of $25.00 per hour for committee meetings held outside of the normal school day as determined by the High School Principal. Department Chairpersons will be excluded from this compensation for committee meeting attendance.
53.03 A Teacher of Record (TOR) who is an available bargaining unit member shall be assigned to each student whose plan is approved. In the absence of an available and/or willing teacher whose participation is otherwise needed over the summer, a Licensed Building Administrator can be the Teacher of Record (TOR). A TOR is the person responsible for making a final determination of grades and whether credit should be granted, subject to the provisions of Article 22.
53.04 If a credit flexibility plan pertains to a class which is not in the North Ridgeville High School Course Selection Handbook the teacher of record will be compensated at the rate of $28.00 per hour for work on any approved credit flexibility plan determined by the Committee to require time outside of the normal work day. Summer work is voluntary and will be compensated at this same rate and must be determined in advance according to the Credit Flexibility Plan. All hours must be determined in advance and approved by the Credit Flex Committee. Disagreements will be resolved by the High School Principal.
53.05 Only bargaining unit members certified in the core, HQT, or credentialed can be the teacher of record. If no bargaining unit member is available or willing the licensed administrator can be the teacher of record.
53.06 Credit Flex students will count as part of the class load / prep for the teacher of record if the credit flexibility plan pertains to a class which is in the North Ridgeville High School Course Selection Handbook. If the maximum is met in class size or load then Article 11 will be followed in addition to any other compensation agreed upon under this Credit Flexibility agreement.
53.07 The teacher of record may be granted release time for work done associated with the creation of ...
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. Recognizing the need for ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Local Schools to provide for Flexible Credit options for the students of the district, according to the requirements of H.B. 1, a supplemental contract shall be given to any and all teachers of record who are working with students to attain such flexible credit. Teachers who are working with said students will receive compensation at the extra duty rate established in Article 8.0104 of this Agreement per hour per student for work beyond the school day. If the student decides to discontinue his/her study, the teacher will be paid for all work done up to the student’s decision to discontinue.
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. 24.1 A. As a result of SB 311, the Association and the Board agree to the following regarding the offering of a credit flexibility program within the district:
1. Flexible credit shall only be available to students for courses currently offered by the school district in its regular programs.
2. A committee shall be formed to review and approve/disapprove student Flexible Credit applications. The committee shall be comprised of three (3) high school teachers chosen by the Association president, one (1) high school administrator chosen by the Superintendent, and the Superintendent or his/her designee. The committee shall also have a “rotating” member who shall be the teacher of record for the student who has applied. Bargaining unit members of the committee shall be paid fifteen ($15.00) dollars per hour for all committee meetings held outside of the school day or school year.
3. No teacher shall be required to serve as a teacher of record. Only a teacher who is certified and teaching in the area of flexible credit sought shall be assigned as the teacher of record.
4. The Board’s policy on Credit Flexibility shall empower the teacher of record to make the sole determination about whether credit is/is not granted and what grade is assigned if applicable, or level of mastery achieved, if applicable. Further, the Board’s policy shall require that any student participating in a Flexible Credit plan of study report at least at minimum, regular intervals with the teacher of record regarding the student’s progress. The policy shall also require that the teacher of record and the student develop a rubric for demonstrating mastery of the district’s approved curriculum in the context of the student’s plan.
5. The teacher of record shall be paid fifteen ($15.00) dollars per hour for work associated with a student’s Flexible Credit plan implementation.
6. In the event that a student fails to achieve credit and appeals the decision of the teacher of record, such appeal shall go exclusively to the committee, whose decision shall be final.
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. A. The assignment of a teacher of record shall first be made by soliciting volunteers from the bargaining unit who are certified/licensed. If no such volunteer is found, the District may assign a bargaining unit member as a teacher of record. However, such involuntary assignments shall be rotated within the affected department.
B. A bargaining unit member who becomes a teacher of record shall be paid thirty dollars ($30.00) per hour for work on such approved duties performed outside of the regular work day.
CREDIT FLEXIBILITY. 2.5.1 Parties to any First Source Hiring Agreement for both Construction Work and Non-Construction Work shall receive credit for meeting the goals set forth in their respective First Source Hiring Agreements by contracting with TIHDI member organizations for services such as grounds maintenance and landscaping, janitorial maintenance, deconstruction or other economic development activities as more fully described below. Any party to a First Source Hiring Agreement seeking to obtain credit for such TIHDI contracting under its respective First Source Hiring Agreement shall do so by providing written notice to both the Authority and the FSHA. The Authority, in consultation with the FSHA, shall make a reasonable determination of what (if any) credit shall be applied to the requesting party’s obligations under its First Source Hiring Agreement. Any disputes regarding such credits shall be resolved pursuant to the arbitration provisions of this Program.
2.5.2 Some jobs will be better suited to meeting or exceeding the hiring goals than others, hence all workforce hiring goals under a Construction Contract or by a Permanent Employer will be cumulative, not individual, goals for that Construction Contract or Permanent Employer.
2.5.3 Developer and Vertical Developers shall have the right to reasonably spread the workforce goals, in different percentages, among separate Construction Contracts or Permanent Employers so long as the cumulative goals among all of the Construction Contracts or Permanent Employers at any given time meet the requirements of this Program. The parties shall make such modifications to the applicable First Source Hiring Agreements consistent with Developer and Vertical Developers’ allocation. This acknowledgement does not alter in any way the requirement that Developer, Vertical Developers, Construction Contractors, and Permanent Employers comply with good faith effort obligations to meet the participation goals for all components of the Construction Work and Non-Construction Work. During all phases of the Project, sustained efforts will be made to meet the goals outlined in this Program.
2.5.4 Each Construction Contractor and Permanent Employer shall work with CityBuild and/or the TIHDI Job Broker (as appropriate) to ensure that appropriate employment and contracting opportunities are provided to TIHDI Member organizations in accordance with this Jobs EOP.
