CUSTODY OF WORK Sample Clauses
The "Custody of Work" clause defines who is responsible for the care, control, and safekeeping of materials, equipment, or work in progress during a project. Typically, this clause specifies whether the contractor or the client holds responsibility for protecting the work from damage, loss, or theft until completion or handover. For example, it may require the contractor to secure the site and materials until final acceptance by the client. The core function of this clause is to clearly allocate responsibility for the work's condition during the project, thereby reducing disputes and ensuring accountability for any damage or loss that may occur.
