Common use of Death grant Clause in Contracts

Death grant. In the event of the death of an employee, any legal heir whom the deceased was legally obliged to maintain shall be entitled to a death grant amounting to one month’s remuneration. If there are more than 3 eligible surviving dependants, a total of 3 months’ remuneration is due; this is to be divided per capita. If only one child has this entitlement and the deceased was a single parent (without a spouse or registered partner), this child is entitled to 2 months’ remuneration.
