Common use of Deductibles and Self-Insured Retentions (SIRs) Clause in Contracts

Deductibles and Self-Insured Retentions (SIRs). The Contractor’s policies shall not obligate the County to pay any portion of any Contractor deductible or SIR. The County retains the right to require the Contractor to reduce or eliminate policy deductibles and SIRs as respects the County, or to provide a bond guaranteeing the Contractor’s payment of all deductibles and SIRs, including all related claims investigation, administration and defense expenses. Such bond shall be executed by a corporate surety licensed to transact business in the State of California.
