Definition for the purpose of Family Illness Leave. For the purpose of this clause references to family members include: spouse, children, children’s spouses, xxxxxxxxx, stepchild in-law, siblings, in-law siblings, parents, step-parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, children of siblings, and any other person living in the same household who is dependent upon the employee. Persons considered equivalent to the above family members through xxxxxx, kinship and out-of-care relationships shall also be included in this definition. (All references to spouse in this clause shall be as defined in Article 2.1.7).

The purpose of this clause is to avoid a TIPS Member inadvertently renewing an Agreement during a period in which the governing body of the TIPS Member has not properly appropriated and budgeted the funds to satisfy the Agreement renewal. Any TIPS Sale Supplemental Agreement containing an “Automatic Renewal” clause that conflicts with these terms is rendered void and unenforceable.
