Definition of Engineering Worker. Definition (a) an employee directly assisting a mechanical or electrical tradesperson. At this level, the employee's work includes, but is not limited to, the following: • assist in a team in the installation and maintenance of power supply work • install cable ladders, conduit and cable including fixings and fittings necessary for the installation of wiring circuits prior to terminating and testing by an electrical tradesperson • independently carry out work consistent with the skills acquired, but not to the level of a tradesperson. • participate in the training required for a St. Xxxx's Ambulance CPR ticket and acquires such a qualification • participates in the training required for an electrical safety ticket • assist a tradesperson in installing and maintaining high voltage overhead conductors and associated switchgear • operates all equipment / plant, incidental to the job for which they are trained • assists in the preparation for and execution of all work carried out by a tradesperson • performs work under direct or general supervision either individually or in a team environment • carries out the documentation work necessary for the related job functions including the ordering of equipment and tools; or (b) an employee who has completed an Engineering Certificate or equivalent training so as to enable the employee to perform work within the scope of this level. An employee at this level performs work including: • working from instructions and procedures • assisting in the provision of on-the-job training to a limited degree • co-ordinating work in a team environment or works individually under general supervision • assuring the quality of their own work Indicative of the tasks which an employee at this level may perform include: • using precision measuring instruments • machine setting, loading and operation • inventory and store control including licensed operation of all appropriate materials handling equipment • using tools and equipment within the scope (basic non-trades maintenance) • computer operation • intermediate keyboard skills • basic engineering and fault finding skills • performing basic quality checks on the work of others • licensed and certified for fork-lift, engine driving and crane driving operations. • assisting tradespersons and supervisors in on-the-job training

  • Suspension of unsafe Construction Works (i) Upon recommendation of the Authority’s Engineer to this effect, the Authority may by notice require the Contractor to suspend forthwith the whole or any part of the Works if, in the reasonable opinion of the Authority’s Engineer, such work threatens the safety of the Users and pedestrians. (ii) The Contractor shall, pursuant to the notice under Clause 11.17 (i), suspend the Works or any part thereof for such time and in such manner as may be specified by the Authority and thereupon carry out remedial measures to secure the safety of suspended works, the Users and pedestrians. The Contractor may by notice require the Authority’s Engineer to inspect such remedial measures forthwith and make a report to the Authority recommending whether or not the suspension hereunder may be revoked. Upon receiving the recommendations of the Authority’s Engineer, the Authority shall either revoke such suspension or instruct the Contractor to carry out such other and further remedial measures as may be necessary in the reasonable opinion of the Authority, and the procedure set forth in this Clause 11.17 shall be repeated until the suspension hereunder is revoked. (iii) Subject to the provisions of Clause 21.6, all reasonable costs incurred for maintaining and protecting the Works or part thereof during the period of suspension (the “Preservation Costs”), shall be borne by the Contractor; provided that if the suspension has occurred as a result of any breach of this Agreement by the Authority, the Preservation Costs shall be borne by the Authority. (iv) If suspension of Works is for reasons not attributable to the Contractor, the Authority’s Engineer shall determine any Time Extension to which the Contractor is reasonably entitled.

  • LIMITATIONS ON REVERSE ENGINEERING, DECOMPILATION AND DISASSEMBLY You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.

Force majeure does not include (i) a failure of performance that is due to an affected party’s own negligence or intentional wrongdoing; (ii) any removable or remediable causes (other than settlement of a strike or labor dispute) which an affected party fails to remove or remedy within a reasonable time; or (iii) economic hardship of an affected party.

  • Definition of Total Disability Total disability means that the employee is unable, because of sickness or accident, to perform the duties of their regular occupation. This definition applies for the first twenty-four (24) months of payments. After this time, the inability to perform an occupation for which the employee is reasonably fitted by training, education or experience will constitute total disability. It is not required that an employee be confined to home, but they must be under the regular care of a physician.
