Common use of Department’s Grant Authority Clause in Contracts

Department’s Grant Authority. Pursuant to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) (29 U.S.C. Sec. 3101, et. seq.), the Xxxxxx-Xxxxxx Act (29 U.S.C. 49 et seq.), the Trade Act of 1974 (29 U.S.C. Sec. 2271 et seq.), and other applicable federal and state programs, the United States Department of Labor (“USDOL”) and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (“Commonwealth”) provide the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (“Department”) with federal and state funds in the form of a grant or state budget appropriation, and the Department executes grant agreements to disburse such grant funds to entities and organizations (“Grantees”) for the provision of workforce services, who may contract with other entities (“Sub-recipients”) to use these federal and state funds under the grant.
