Occupational Health & Safety Committee. The parties agree to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and any other federal, provincial or municipal health and safety legislation and regulations. Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Occupational Health and Safety Committee, one representative selected or appointed by the Association from the bargaining unit. Such committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions relating to occupational health and safety. Meetings shall be held every third month or more frequently if mutually agreed. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review.
Occupational Health & Safety Committee. (a) The Employer and the Union agree to maintain standards of safety and health in the environment served by VON in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness. The parties agree to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and any other federal, provincial or municipal health and safety legislation and regulations.
(b) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Occupational Health and Safety Committee, one (1) representative selected or appointed by the Union from the bargaining unit. Toronto/York Site will have two (2) representatives. For Porcupine/Highway 11 and Durham, only the member shall be a certified member. Such committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions relating to occupational health and safety. Meetings shall be held every third month or more frequently if mutually agreed. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review.
(c) When faced with occupational health and safety concerns the Employer will take reasonable actions in a timely manner that reduces risk and protects Nurses. Any such actions will comply with the then current legislation relative to the issue(s).

(b) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Occupational Health and Safety Committees, at least one representative selected or appointed by the Association from the bargaining unit.
(c) Such committees shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving Health and Safety programmes, and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions relating to Occupational Health and Safety.
(d) The Employer agrees to provide necessary information to enable the committee members to fulfill their function.
(e) Meetings shall be held every month or more frequently at the call of the Chair, if required. The committees shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review.
(f) All time spent by a member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee attending meetings of the committees, shall be deemed to be time worked for which she shall be paid by the Employer at her regular or premium rate, as may be proper, and she shall be entitled to such time from her work, as is necessary.
(g) The Employer shall recognize one (1) O.N.A. member as certified workers pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
(h) The Association agrees to endeavour to obtain full co-operation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices.
(i) Any representative appointed or selected in accordance with (b) hereof, shall serve for a term of at least one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment. Time off for representatives to perform these duties shall be granted.
(j) A member of a committee is entitled to: i) one (1) hour or such longer period of time as the committee determines is necessary to prepare for each committee meeting;
Occupational Health & Safety Committee. (a) The Association, the Employer and the nurses commit themselves to maintaining proper health and safety practices in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Corporate Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
(b) The Association shall appoint one (1) employee member to the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. When the Employer requires its next certified worker representing employees, that worker shall be a member of this bargaining unit.

(d) The Employer agrees to co-operate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the Committee to fulfil its function.
(e) Meetings shall be held quarterly or more frequently at the call of the chair, if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review.
(f) All time spent by a member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee attending meetings of the Committee, shall be deemed to be time worked for which they shall be paid by the Employer at their regular rate, and they shall be entitled to such time from their work, as is necessary.
Occupational Health & Safety Committee. (a) The Union shall select at least four (4) Union members to serve on the Joint Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Committee. At least two (2) of these members as selected by the Union shall meet in person with a Company representative or representatives at least once each month on paid time at applicable rates. The time, date, location, and agenda of these meetings will be established by mutual agreement. There shall be equal numbers of Union and Company representatives on the OH&S Committee. A Chairperson and a Co-Chairperson shall be elected from and by the members of the OH&S Committee. When the Chairperson is a Company member, the Co-Chairperson shall be a Union member and vice-versa.
(b) The Union and Company members will create an agenda for each meeting at least three (3) working days before the meeting to enable both parties to be prepared with necessary information on the agenda items to be discussed.
(c) Union staff or Union health and safety advisors shall be permitted to attend OH&S Committee meetings at the request of any member of the OH&S Committee with voice but no vote. Additional persons necessary to the proper functioning of the OH&S Committee and the thorough consideration of an issue may be invited to attend meetings on the same basis.
(d) Minutes will be kept of all matters discussed in the monthly meetings to ensure an accurate record is kept of all proceedings. All documentation and reports brought before the OH&S Committee will be referenced in the minutes.
(e) The OH&S Committee shall assist in creating a safe place to work, shall recommend actions which will improve the effectiveness of the Occupational Health and Safety program, and shall promote compliance with applicable government regulations. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the OH&S Committee shall:
(i) At least every two (2) months, inspect all places of employment including buildings, structures, grounds, excavations, tools, equipment, machinery and work methods and practices.
(ii) Develop, where these do not already exist, written instructions, available for reference by all workers, in respect of safe working practices and procedures.
(iii) Appoint a Union OH&S Committee member and a Company OH&S Committee member to investigate every injury or near- miss which involved or would have involved a worker going to a doctor or hospital.
(iv) Recommend measures required to correct hazardous conditions and to attain compliance with applicable government regu...

Occupational Health & Safety Committee. Such committee shall identify, prevent and resolve Health and Safety issues in order to eliminate/reduce near miss, injuries and illness, improve general health and moral and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to occupational health and safety.
Occupational Health & Safety Committee. The Hospital will recognize two (2) bargaining unit employees of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. When a regular member of the Committee is not available, she/he may be replaced by an alternate, appointed by the Union.
Occupational Health & Safety Committee one (1) employee. The Union can appoint an alternate for the purpose of attending committee meetings.
