Description of biophysical variables production. The production of the HRLs shall benefit from a series of initial operations, such as the production of biophysical variables that will be useful for the production of several HRLs in any one lot. The production of HRLs shall be based on (semi-)automatic classification of the satellite images. Several of the HRLs build upon biophysical variables, for which it is considered appropriate to centralise the production step on a per lot basis. As a minimum, the NDVI17 layer will be calculated. The tenderer may include the calculation of other biophysical variables (e.g. fAPAR18, LAI19), in order to match the minimum thematic accuracy required for the HRLs. Biophysical variable layers will be considered as intermediate data products.
