Common use of Deviation from Plans and Specifications Clause in Contracts

Deviation from Plans and Specifications. No person except the Engineer shall have authority to revoke, alter, enlarge, or change any provisions of these Specifications or the Plans for the Work, and if the Contractor deviates from them in any particular without a written Change Order from the Engineer, he does so at his own risk; and such Work and payment therefore may not be approved.
