Direct Connection Sample Clauses

Direct Connection. NEN shall be permitted to connect its own Loop directly to GTE’s NID in cases in which NEN uses its own facilities to provide local service to an end-user formerly served by GTE, as long as such direct connection does not adversely affect GTE's network. In order to minimize any such adverse effects, the following procedures shall apply: 4.1.1 When connecting its own loop facility directly to GTE's NID for a residence or business customer, NEN must make a clean cut on the GTE drop wire at the NID so that no bare wire is exposed. NEN shall not remove or disconnect GTE's drop wire from the NID or take any other action that might cause GTE's drop wire to be left lying on the ground. 4.1.2 At multi-tenant customer locations, NEN must remove the jumper wire from the distribution block (i.e. the NID) to the GTE cable termination block. If NEN cannot gain access to the cable termination block, NEN must make a clean cut at the closest point to the cable termination block. At NEN's request and discretion, GTE will determine the cable pair to be removed at the NID in multi-tenant locations. NEN will compensate GTE for the trip charge necessary to identify the cable pair to be removed. 4.1.3 GTE agrees to offer NIDs for lease to NEN but not for sale. NEN may remove GTE identification from any NID which it connects to a NEN loop, but NEN may not place its own identification on such NID. Rates for the NID are reflected in Appendix D, along with associated non-recurring charges. 4.1.4 GTE Loop elements leased by NEN will be required to terminate only on a GTE NID. If NEN leasing a GTE loop wants a NEN NID, they will also be required to lease a GTE NID for the direct loop termination and effect a NID to NID connection. Rates for the Loop and NID are reflected in Appendix D, along with associated non-recurring charges.

Direct Connection. Sometimes inappropriately called a cross-connect, this is a cable connection between a Collocator’s collocated equipment in a Physical or Virtual Collocation arrangement and its own or another Collocator’s physically or virtually collocated equipment, located within the Eligible Structure (see Cross Connect, 2.6).
Direct Connection. 8.3.1.11.2.1 Direct Connection provides an uninterrupted path from the Collocation space to an existing frame. This option will guarantee that there will not be an ICDF. The connection will be designed from the Collocation space to the same frame that Qwest uses to connect to that specific service. For example, if CLEC wants to connect directly from their Collocation space to a 911 router, the infrastructure for the 911 trunks will terminate in a DS1 bay location with the 911-router circuits. There are several options for the location of the Demarcation Point. CLEC will select their desired option via the supplemental Direct Connection (DC-POT) With Collocation Form DC050900. If CLEC chooses a demarcation inside the Collocation space, the collocator should order and install the termination equipment itself. Demarcation equipment must be noted on the order form so that a CLLI code and unique tie cable assignments can be generated for systems flow through. If CLEC chooses a demarcation outside its Collocation space, Qwest will maintain and inventory this device. Direct terminations may be ordered where frame space is available. If frame space is exhausted the terminations may need to be made at another frame. Upon completion of the pre-Provisioning of the Direct Connection, CLEC will receive an Alternate Point of Termination (APOT) form so that they may order Finished Services and UNEs. CLEC will be responsible for augmenting terminations as required. The Direct Connection APOT information must be provided on the ASR or LSR to insure that the services are designed to the dedicated path.

Direct Connection. As stated in Article I.B of the Collocation Agreement, Interconnector may connect to other interconnectors within the designated Central Office in addition to, and not in lieu of, interconnection to BellSouth services and facilities. Interconnector must use its Certified Vendor to place the direct connection. The Direct Connection NRC is assessed when direct connection is the only work requested by Interconnector. If any other work in addition to the direct connection is being requested, whether for an initial installation of a Collocation Space or for an augmentation to an existing Collocation Space, an Application Fee or a Subsequent Application Fee will be assessed in lieu of the Direct Connection NRC. Construction charges may also apply; BellSouth shall provide an estimate of these charges in the Application Response.

Direct Connection. As stated in Article 1.2 of the Collocation Agreement, ALEC, Inc. may connect to other CLECs within the designated Central Office in addition to, and not in lieu of, interconnection to BellSouth services and facilities. Where BellSouth must construct a cable rack structure to house the direct connection, construction charges will be applied on an individual case basis. BellSouth shall provide an estimate of these charges in the Application Response. Where an existing cable rack structure is in place and has sufficient capacity to accommodate the direct connection requested, the recurring charges as stated in this Exhibit A shall apply. (1) Subsequent Application Fee: BellSouth requires the submission of an Application Fee for modifications to an existing arrangement. However, when the modifications do not require BellSouth to expend capital, BellSouth will assess the Subsequent Application Fee in lieu of the Application Fee. Proposed modifications that could result in assessment of a Subsequent Application Fee would cause BellSouth to analyze the following but are not limited to: floor loading changes, changes to HVAC requirements, power requirement changes which may result in a power plant upgrade, environmental or safety requirements, or equipment relocation. Should the Subsequent Application Fee not be included as part of this Agreement, ALEC, Inc. will be assessed the full Application Fee for all subsequent activity for completed arrangements.
