The 'District Chiefs' clause defines the roles, responsibilities, and authority of district chiefs within an organization or governing body. District Chiefs. Employees temporarily assigned to work as a District Chief for one half (½) shift shall receive a five (5%) percent wage supplement paid retroactively to the beginning of the first shift. District Chiefs assigned to the Floating Squad who may be required to work in Battalion 7 shall be paid an additional 2% of their base pay for all hours worked within Battalion 7.

Additionally any District newly created during the tenure of this Agreement, will also be staffed with a District Chief and one (1) E/O Incident Command Technician. All backup Incident Command Technicians shall be of the Engineer/Operator rank.
District Chiefs. Vacation leave selections will be made during the month of December for the upcoming year. Vacation leave will be selected by rank and seniority. Vacation picks for the upcoming year will be completed and entered into the computer in December of the current year. Vacation picks can continue beyond the year being selected when they are consecutive days. Persons on extended leave, such as vacation, military leave, workers' compensation, or extended sick leave shall leave their first and second round picks with their Division Chief or designee prior to November 1. Those persons who call in sick during the vacation selection process, should call the Division Chief with their vacation picks. The vacation selection process will consist of two complete rounds. Employee recognition (ER) days (five year incremental anniversary of city employment) are to be picked after the annual vacation picks. Employees who do not request their ER leave at this time assume the responsibility for possible loss of this benefit due to a full calendar. If employees desire to move any of their NS days at this time, they may do so after vacation and ER days are chosen. When two rounds of vacation picks, ER choices, and NS exchanges are complete they shall be entered into Telestaff no later than December 31. At that time personnel will be notified of an open calendar and the remaining days may be secured with vacation on a first come basis.
District Chiefs a. Current employment with the County as a Captain, ARFF Captain, Special Operations Captain or EMS Captain; and
District Chiefs. Captains qualified to act in the capacity of District Chief will be assigned to a specific District Chief, to a maximum of sixtyfour (64) across Toronto Fire Services, according to their standing on the Promotional List. Only when an acting role cannot be filled by the Captains identified above will other acting roles be assigned. Selection shall be made using the promotional list to identify the actor with the highest standing who is at work and available within the Command.

(b) 36 months continuous service as an ARFF Captain,
(c) Current Department Protocoled Paramedic certification or
District Chiefs. (a) Current employment with the County as a Captain, ARFF Captain, Special Operations Captain or District Captain; and
(b) 36 months continuous service as an ARFF Captain, Special Operations Captain or District Captain provided that any ARFF Captain, Special Operations Captain or District Captain with a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent as approved by the State of Florida for Educational Incentive, need only have 24 months of continuous service as an ARFF Captain, Special Operations Captain or District Captain; 48 months continuous service as a Captain, provided that any Captain with a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent as approved by the State of Florida for Educational Incentive, need only have 36 months of continuous of continuous service as a Captain; and
(c) Current Department Protocoled Paramedic certification or EMT and Paramedic qualifications, per section 15; and
(d) Associate Degree as approved by the State of Florida for Educational Incentive; and
(e) State Certified Municipal Fire Inspector; and
(f) State Certified Fire Instructor I.
