Common use of Duty of the Employee Clause in Contracts

Duty of the Employee. All employees employed upon or in connection with every establishment shall, in the course of their employment: (a) take all reasonable precautions to ensure their own safety and the safety of other persons in the establishment; (b) take all reasonable steps to identify risks to physical or mental health and safety and bring them to the attention of the Employer, provided always that the Employer shall protect employees who identify and report such risks from reprisal; (c) as the circumstances require, use devices and articles of clothing or equipment that are intended for their protection and furnished to them by the Employer, or required to be used or worn by them under the Safety Regulations of the Northwest Territories Safety Act R.S.N.W.T. 1988 c.s-1, as amended.
