Effective Date of Horizontal Advancement. a. Horizontal advancement will only occur at the beginning of the academic year. Earned credit for horizontal movement completed prior to the opening of the Fall semester will be credited on the Fall semester contract. In all cases, official transcripts must be furnished to Human Resources before credits will be granted. b. All earned credits to be used for movement on the salary schedule must be submitted to Human Resources no later than July 1 for salary adjustment starting with the new academic year. However, the faculty member must notify Human Resources by May 15 if they plan to take a course that summer and submit the credit for horizontal advancement, in order to get the funds secured for next year’s budget. c. All credits must be earned before the start of the fall semester.
