Common use of Elective Office Clause in Contracts

Elective Office. A. For the purpose of enabling employees to participate in the affairs of government, the Company shall grant, upon written notice from the employee, leaves of absence to employees who are elected or appointed to city, county, state, and national governmental positions for the first term or who are appointed to serve unexpired terms of such elective or appointive positions. Such leaves of absence will be granted by the Company, upon written request, for successive terms within the period of this contract. B. Upon written request, an employee seeking candidacy or government office, the Company will grant a leave of absence of sixty (60) days prior to an election date for the purpose of campaigning on their own behalf.
