Employee Rights when Positions Become Redundant. Wherever practical, when an employee's position becomes redundant due to automation or new equipment, the employee shall be eligible for retraining to qualify for the operation of such new equipment or to qualify for new positions as a result of the automation or new equipment. Such re-training shall be provided by the Employer without cost and without loss of pay to the affected employee. In the event the employee cannot adapt to the automation or new equipment, then he/she can exercise his/her seniority under the terms of the bumping procedure as set out in Article 13.1.
