Employee Workday. 1. For the 180 student-contact days, the employee workday shall be seven and one- third hours, including lunch time on campus. If reports or other assignments are given to teachers, the scope shall be that they can reasonably be completed during the workday. All other workdays shall consist of seven hours on campus. Whenever the Employer determines the need to alter the starting and ending times of the school day to accommodate transportation requirements or other contingencies, the reporting times for employees shall be adjusted accordingly. Under normal circumstances, high school teachers will not be required to report more than ten (10) minutes before or remain more than twenty-five (25) minutes after the school day, nor shall the workday as defined in the Agreement be lengthened as a result of such alteration. Under normal circumstances, middle school teachers will report twenty-five (25) minutes before the school day, and remain ten (10) minutes after the school day. 2. A daily lunch period free from assignment shall be provided for all regular full- time employees. Every effort will be made to provide a thirty (30)-minute employee lunch period; however, the length of the lunch period free from assignment shall be no less than that provided to students in the employee's assigned school. The lunch period free from assignment shall be guaranteed to each employee except in the case of a clear and definite emergency. In any school not provided a thirty (30)-minute employee lunch period, the faculty may submit to the principal a thirty (30)-minute lunch-period plan for his/her consideration. Teachers may leave the campus during the thirty (30) minute lunch period, with prior approval of the principal or designee. Teachers may take one hour for lunch on planning days. 3. Employees may be required to attend up to twelve (12) faculty or in-service meetings each contract year; the total time for all such meetings shall not exceed eighteen (18) hours of employee time per contract year. This time may be used in increments of thirty (30) minutes, up to a maximum of ninety (90) minutes during any workday. These meetings (up to twelve (12)) may be held before or after the student day. Meetings held before school shall begin no more than sixty (60) minutes before the student day and may not exceed sixty

Non- Instructional Time Employees will be required to be in their area of work thirty (30) minutes prior, and thirty (30) minutes after the school session (8:00-8:30 A.M. and 3:15-3:45 P.M). B. Teachers will be compensated for the time spent attending district or co-operative directed meetings outside of contracted time (8:00AM-3:45PM) by having the ability to leave early the equivalent amount of time on Fridays for full time employees and an alternate day for non-Friday employees where participation in other district directed meetings will not be impacted. Employees may use an alternate day when communicated to the principal at least two days prior to using the compensated leave. 1. This excludes book study meetings or any other meetings where participation is voluntary. C. Each employee shall be allowed a thirty (30) minute duty free lunch period each day.

On those days when professional responsibilities (IEP meetings or parent correspondence) necessitate more time, the employee may be asked to stay until 3:30. The staff shall receive a minimum of a continuous ten (10) minute duty-free break/recess. All employees will receive a minimum thirty (30) minute duty-free lunch period. No employee shall leave the building during school time without first notifying the principal or designee. Employees teaching the youngest children will have the same or less contact hours with students as those with older students. The student schedules will be as follows: Colville High School: 8:00am - 2:45pm Colville Junior High School: 8:00am - 2:40pm Fort Colville School: 8:00am - 2:40pm ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ School: 8:00am - 2:40pm B. On days staff have professional responsibilities, they may need to stay on site until 3:30 PM. If the responsibility goes beyond 3:30 PM, staff may record this additional time as Flex Time to be included in the possible 24 hours. The time must be documented on the Flex Leave Form (Appendix I). C. Change in Workday: Any major changes with the school schedule will be sent to the Association president(s) and the previous year’s building representative 30 days prior to the beginning of school or the implementation of the new schedule, if possible. A meeting between the principal of the school involved, Association president(s), building representative and any other interested employees of the school involved will be scheduled as soon as possible. D. Assembly Attendance: Employee attendance at assemblies shall be compulsory unless excused by the principal. Elementary employees shall not be required to attend assemblies during their preparation time. In special circumstances employees may be required to attend an assembly or special program. E. Professional Responsibilities: Employees are required to make due preparation daily for their duties, preparation to include attendance at employee's meetings and such other professional work contributing to efficient school service during the workday as may be required by the principal or Superintendent.

Employees shall not be permitted to leave early without expressed permission from the Principal. 2. Teachers will be granted as much time necessary to provide input.During each workday, the employee shall be entitled to a duty-free lunch period equal to that specified in the School Code of Illinois, Section 24-9.

No employee shall leave the building during school time without first notifying the principal or designee. Employees teaching the youngest children will have the same or less contact hours with students as those with older students. B. The length of the assigned work day shall be substantially the same for all teachers and will consist of seven and one-half (7 ½) consecutive hours including thirty (30) continuous minutes duty free lunch. B. In addition to regular building hours, faculty meetings after the student day will be held within the half-hour provision.

Independence Day will be for 250 day employees only. The District maintains the administrative prerogative to assign a classified employee to cover classes or duties for an absent employee. The administrator may make mutually acceptable arrangements with the employee to replace the time spent covering an absent employee’s classes or duties.
