Enforcement of Time Limits. The time limits of this grievance procedure and arbitration procedure shall be strictly adhered to, unless the Medical Center and Association agree in writing to extend a particular time limit. The Medical Center shall have the right to refuse to process or to arbitrate a grievance which is not raised in a timely fashion. Any grievance not processed in a timely fashion shall be considered settled on the basis of the last answer given. If at any step of the grievance procedure the Medical Center does not formally respond as provided herein, it will be assumed that the Medical Center has rejected the grievance, and the next step of the grievance procedure shall be available.
