Board Support and Assistance - The Board recognizes its responsibility to give all reasonable support and assistance to employees with respect to the maintenance of control and discipline in the school from the time the child is in attendance or in district-sponsored transit to or from the school or any other school function authorized by the school district or in a classroom presided over by the teacher. The Board recognizes that the teacher in the classroom should not be expected to assume the ongoing responsibility for social work or psychotherapy. Whenever it appears that a particular pupil requires the attention of special employees, specialcounselors, social workers, law enforcement personnel, physicians or other professionally trained persons, the principal will make a decision to pursue special assistance with respect to such student.
