Enhanced Variances to the. Faculty Agreement In general, MOUs are applied in situations where a rapid solution to external conditions is needed. MOUs can also be used to xxxxxx intentional innovative change through the Enhanced Variance process. If any provision(s) of the Faculty Agreement prove to be an impediment to a local institutional innovation, the innovators may apply for a variance to the Faculty Agreement, allowing them to operate under alternative guidelines for a pilot or proof of concept. The FACT will develop and maintain an application for a variance to the existing Faculty Agreement that will require a College to provide specific information, including: (A) the length of time requested for the variance to be piloted (not to exceed four consecutive semesters not counting summer); (B) the impact the variance will have on the working conditions of Adjunct and Residential Faculty; (C) the alternative rules that will be applicable (if any); (D) the impact the variance will have on interactions with students; and
