Common use of Environmental and Social Safeguards Clause in Contracts

Environmental and Social Safeguards. 1. The Recipient shall carry out the Project in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental and Social Management Framework and the Resettlement Policy Framework, and shall not, except as the Association shall otherwise agree, amend or waive any provision of the aforementioned if such amendment or waiver may, in the opinion of the Association, adversely and materially affect Project implementation.

Except as the Association shall agree in writing, the Recipient shall not abrogate, amend, repeal, suspend, waive or otherwise fail to enforce the provisions of the Environmental Environment and Social Management Framework and the Resettlement Policy Framework, and shall not, except as the Association shall otherwise agree, amend or waive any provision of the aforementioned if such amendment or waiver may, when in the opinion of the Association, it may adversely and materially affect Project implementationthe implementation of the Project.
