Common use of Environmental and Social Screening Arrangements Clause in Contracts

Environmental and Social Screening Arrangements. The Recipient shall take all measures required on its behalf so that XXXX or the PCU, as the case may be: (i) screen, under Parts 2.1 and 3.1(b) of the Project, the activities under the Research Proposals and Grants proposals submitted for financing out of the proceeds of the Credit; (ii) ensure that each Beneficiary: (A) carry out an appropriate site-specific Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) or Environment and Social Management Plan (ESMP), as the case may be, and a Resettlement Action Plan, if there is Resettlement, for each such activities in accordance with the provisions of the ESMF and RPF, as the case may be, and in form and substance satisfactory to the Association; and (B) consult upon and disclose the site-specific ESIA or ESMP, as the case may be, and the RAP, if there is one, as approved by the Association; (iii) verify (through its own staff, outside experts, or existing environmental/social institutions) before approving the Research Proposal or Xxxxx proposal that the activities meet the environmental and social requirements of appropriate national and local authorities and that they are consistent with the Association’s applicable environmental and social assessment and safeguard policies and comply with the environmental and social review procedures set forth in the Project Implementation Manual; and (iv) thereafter, ensure that the relevant mitigation and monitoring provisions of the ESIA or ESMP, as the case may be, and RAP, if there is one, are appropriately implemented.

The Recipient shall take all measures required on its behalf so that XXXX or the PCU, as the case may beFIRCA: (i) screen, under Parts 2.1 and 3.1(b3.1 (b) of the Project, the activities under the Research Proposals and Grants proposals submitted for financing out of the proceeds of the CreditFinancing and establish that such activities avoid Resettlement; (ii) ensure that each Beneficiary: (A) carry out an appropriate site-specific Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) or Environment and Social Management Plan (ESMP), as the case may be, and a Resettlement Action Plan, if there is Resettlement, for each such activities in accordance with the provisions of the ESMF and RPF, as the case may be, and in form and substance satisfactory to the AssociationFIRCA; and (B) consult upon and disclose the site-specific ESIA or ESMP, as the case may be, and the RAP, if there is one, ESMP as approved by the AssociationFIRCA; (iii) verify (through its own staff, outside experts, or existing environmental/social institutions) before approving the Research Proposal or Xxxxx Grant proposal that the activities meet the environmental and social requirements of appropriate national and local authorities and that they are consistent with the Association’s applicable environmental and social assessment and safeguard policies and comply with the environmental and social review procedures set forth in the Project Implementation ManualManual or FIRCA’s CARG Manual of Procedures, as the case may be; and (iv) thereafter, ensure that the relevant mitigation and monitoring provisions of the ESIA or ESMP, as the case may be, and RAP, if there is one, are appropriately implemented.

The Recipient shall take all measures required on its behalf so that XXXX INERA or the PCUCNRST, as the case may be: (i) screen, under Parts 2.1 and 3.1(b3.1 (b) of the Project, the activities under the Research Proposals and Grants proposals submitted for financing out of the proceeds of the CreditFinancing and establish that such activities avoid Resettlement; (ii) ensure that each Beneficiary: (A) carry out an appropriate site-specific Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) or Environment and Social Management Plan (ESMP), as the case may be, and a Resettlement Action Plan, if there is Resettlement, for each such activities in accordance with the provisions of the ESMF and RPFin form and substance satisfactory to INERA or the CNRST, as the case may be, and in form and substance satisfactory to the Association; and (B) consult upon and disclose the site-specific ESIA or ESMPESMP as approved by INERA or CNRST, as the case may be, and the RAP, if there is one, as approved by the Association; (iii) verify (through its own staff, outside experts, or existing environmental/social institutions) before approving the Research Proposal or Xxxxx Grant proposal that the activities meet the environmental and social requirements of appropriate national and local authorities and that they are consistent with the Association’s applicable environmental and social assessment and safeguard policies and comply with the environmental and social review procedures set forth in the Project Implementation ManualManual or the CNRST Manual of Procedures for the CARG, as the case may be; and (iv) thereafter, ensure that the relevant mitigation and monitoring provisions of the ESIA or ESMP, as the case may be, and RAP, if there is one, are appropriately implemented.
