Environmental Awareness. Resident shall acquire an understanding of ethical, socioeconomic, and medical/legal issues that affect the practice of medicine and residency training.
Environmental Awareness. The implementation and continuous improvement of the Laboratory EMS will enhance environmental awareness among laboratory workers.
Environmental Awareness. Training, defined policies and procedures, enhanced audit programs and pollution prevention strategies are key management elements leading to superior environmental performance. Under the current system, these elements often receive less attention than they should because EH&S staff are focused on less pro-active issues such as managing laboratories as satellite accumulation areas. By allowing the institutional EH&S staff to schedule routine pick-ups of laboratory wastes at more suitable intervals (e.g., 2-3 weeks rather than 3-days under the satellite accumulation rule, but limiting the satellite accumulation to a maximum quantity of 55 gallons per laboratory, plus an “excess” of 55 gallons), the XL Participants will be able to more pro-actively focus limited resources on training and audit/corrective action programs and the establishment and administration of waste- exchange and hazardous chemical redistribution programs. Under this project, laboratory workers will receive enhanced hazardous chemical training with respect to laboratory waste, pollution prevention and the environmental management practices at the university. The training requirements are outlined in the Environmental Management Standard (Appendix 2, Section V). The training will also result in benefits for students as they graduate and pursue their careers equipped with an increased environmental awareness and respect for the environmental aspects of their jobs.

Environmental Awareness. 3.20.1 The Contractor shall strictly adhere to all Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Executive Orders, and Department of Defense and Navy policies.
3.20.2 The Contractor shall ensure that each Contractor employee reads the NSWC PHD Environmental Policy Statement within 30 calendar days of commencing contract performance. This document will be available from the COR, however, the policy is also provided on the publicly-available NSWC PHD website, xxxxx://xxxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxx/program/Safety_and_Environmental_Office.
Environmental Awareness. 7.1 Contribute to the successful implementation of the Authority’s Environmental Management Plan by complying with the Authority’s environmental policies and by taking appropriate action regarding in areas such as: • Being familiar with the requirements of the Environmental Management Plan; • Participating in environmental awareness training; • Minimising power and lighting requirements; • Commitment to conserving water; • Minimising the generation of waste from business operations; • Recycling office consumables such as paper, toner cartridges, and cardboard; and • Recycling glass and steel materials where possible. These commitments are to be considered in conjunction with WH&S requirements. • Essential – Nil • Desirable – Relevant Horticultural, trade or project planning or studies working towards a completed qualification.
Environmental Awareness. Air transportation emits greenhouse gases (GHG) and hence has a potential impact on the environment. Passengers contribute to this effect by their choice of means of transport, their choice of holiday destinations and kilometres travelled (Xxxxx and Xxxxxx, 2011; Xxxxxxx et al., 2008). Around 90 per cent of all trips in Europe have a personal background (Eurostat, 2014b). Hence, it is not surprising that tourism is a focus of research regarding environmental awareness and resulting travel behaviour. According to a study from Hares et al. (2009) on UK tourists, there is a basic understanding of tourists on climate change and flying was named among the top three personal contributions towards climate change. However, environmental concerns do not seem to be part of the attitudinal set of participants’ decisions and do not influence their behaviour when planning a holiday, choosing a destination and deciding on the type of transportation. The three main barriers towards pro-environmental behaviour change are a lack of alternative transport systems (particularly in the UK); the high value of holidays with the freedom to travel to every destination one wants; and the lack of feeling personal responsibility for climate change. Hares et al. (2009) derive an awareness-attitude gap among tourists with further research required why such awareness does not lead to pro-environmental travel behaviour. These results are supported by a study of among Germans conducted by Xxxxxx et al. (2006). In this research, all four identified travel groups (non-traveller, local-traveller, mid-distance traveller, and long-haul traveller) have pro-environmental values which does not result in behaviour changes, though. Conducted in-depth interviews show that participants do not see a connection between their travel and holiday behaviour and an impact on the environment. However, within some recent studies, evidence emerged showing an increasingly pro- environmental awareness in tourists' mind-set and a willingness to actually change air travel behaviour in the future (Xxxxx and Xxxxxx, 2011; Xxxxxxxx et al., 2009). For instance, within a study on Swedish passengers (both business and leisure travellers), 25 per cent of surveyed participants would be willing change their future travel behaviour and fly less in order to mitigate emissions (Xxxxxxxx et al., 2009). Environmental awareness among passengers seems to be already present, however, does not lead to behaviour change at the moment...
Environmental Awareness. All of Transire’s employees and workers are made aware and responsible, within their relevant qualifications, so that the performance of their activities does not impact the environment. Vendors performing activities causing an environmental impact must be made aware on the internal procedures of waste management.

Environmental Awareness. Generally, consumers have increasing concerns about our environment, the economy and social issues (WBCSD, 2015). One example can be found in Germany, where sustainable consumption and living is as “trendy” as it has never been before. Participating in the sharing economy and buying organic food are high in demand and one could assume an on-going development of this movement within the next years (Die Bundesregierung, 2013). Looking specifically at air transport, passengers also seem to have pro-environmental values and a basic understanding of travel impacting the environment. Yet, future environmental awareness and its influence on passenger demand is a complex topic and difficult to quantify. Environmental awareness can be driven by many factors and trends. Among others, one potential key driver is education (Bontoux & Xxxxxxxxx, 2015). Looking back at section 2.5.3 in this report, we see an increase in tertiary education enrolments within Europe in the next decades, which could also lead to an increase in environmental awareness. However, awareness does not automatically result in pro-environmental behaviour change, such as choosing other transport modes over air transport (especially due to distance reasons for short and medium-haul routes) or paying for carbon offsetting schemes voluntarily. Pro-environmental behaviour change also depends on other factors, like the individual motivation (Xxxx & Xxxx, 2008). Such factors are, however, difficult to measure. To raise pro-environmental awareness and to trigger a behaviour change until 2035 and 2050, the air transport industry might want to set own incentives and create an environment that supports such behaviour change. Having said that, an increase in passengers' environmental awareness would possibly decrease passenger demand as travellers might substitute air travel by train, coach and other transport modes.
