Independent tasks not associated with enhancing the teacher’s knowledge and instructional skills, such as preparing report cards, calculating grades, or organizing classroom materials, may not be counted as professional development time. Professional development shall not include work for which the teacher will be paid from another source; work for which the teacher may expect to profit financially; or District- approved credit which will apply toward salary schedule lane changes.
