Expansion Joints. Performed expansion joints shall be ½” bituminous impregnated expansion joint filler, type conforming to ASTM D994, or approved equal place where shown on the plans. The joint filler material shall be placed according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. The joint filler material shall be placed such that it’s top surface is one inch below the top surface of the new concrete.
