Extended Day for Professional Development. The Board may require each member to work one extended day beyond the 185-day school year. The purpose of this workday shall be for professional development. If the Board intends to add this extended day, the Board shall notify the WEA president at least one year in advance of when the extended day is scheduled to occur. This extended day shall be contiguous to or within the contract year. The compensation for this day shall be the per diem rate for each member based on a 185-day school year.
