Extending Disciplinary Deadline by Agreement. An Officer and the Chief, or designee, may agree to extend any statutory deadline for 21 imposing discipline for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days. Either the Officer or the Chief 22 may offer or request the extension. The agreement to extend the statutory deadline shall be in 23 writing and shall be signed by both the Officer and the Chief, or designee. 24

b) Any disciplinary action taken by the Chief before the extended deadline shall be considered timely. 24An agreement to extend the deadline does not affect an officer’s right of appeal from the disciplinary action.
