Facilities for Employees. A. Employees will be provided with an area or space in which to carry out their assigned duties. The nature of the area may vary depending upon local conditions. Employees will be provided space to secure personal belongings during work time. B. Within its ability, the Board will make available in each work location a lunch area, break area, restroom and lavatory facilities and parking area for employee use. C. Telephones will be available to employees for reasonable use at all work sites. To the degree possible, employees shall be afforded privacy in use of the telephone. Employees shall not be required to post local telephone calls. Official school business shall take precedence over all other uses of the telephone. Messages may be received at the work site for employees. In the absence of an automated system, incoming messages shall be received and noted as to date, time and name of the sender and placed in the employee’s mailbox, if any. In case of emergency, messages shall be delivered to the employee upon receipt unless to do so would jeopardize the safety of other individuals.
