Familiarization Procedures Sample Clauses
The Familiarization Procedures clause outlines the process by which parties, typically contractors or employees, are required to become acquainted with specific aspects of a project, workplace, or equipment before commencing work. This may involve attending orientation sessions, reviewing safety protocols, or undergoing training to ensure all relevant standards and procedures are understood. By mandating these steps, the clause helps prevent accidents, ensures compliance with regulations, and promotes a safe and efficient working environment.
Familiarization Procedures. In order to assist employees in making their selection of a position outside their regular department, the Company will allow the employee(s) by seniority to familiarize on jobs listed in the following manner:
1. As soon as it is determined that an employee cannot remain in his/her own department, the Company will meet with the employee(s) and a Union representative and provide guidance as to the options available.
2. If necessary, employee(s) will be given the opportunity to familiarize on any job(s) for which they could claim under this section. The familiarization will be up to a maximum of one (1) week on each job. The Company will make every effort to ensure the employee receives fair treatment while familiarizing.
3. Once the employee decides on the position he/she will claim, the Company will arrange to move the employee within thirty (30) days.
4. The employee would receive their regular card rate throughout the familiarization process.
5. The Company will determine the number of employees to be familiarized at any one time. This is to minimize operational disruption. Prior to implementation this number will be reviewed with the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
6. Employees who require basic skills training to assist them in securing another position will be given training on specific pieces of equipment.
