Common use of FATAL FORCE Clause in Contracts

FATAL FORCE. Any time an employee is required to administer fatal force, the following provisions shall apply: A. The employee shall receive the necessary time off to relieve the stress which has resulted from the use of fatal force. The duration of the time shall be set by the Sheriff in consultation with medical and/or mental health professional. B. The employee shall continue to receive his pay and benefits for the duration of the time off without it being charged to his vacation or sick time. C. The instituting of fatal force leave shall be determined by the Sheriff.
