Communicable Disease. Bodily injury" or "property damage" which arises out of the transmission of a communi- cable disease by an "insured";
Communicable Disease. An employee may use paid sick leave credits when under a physician's order to remain secluded due to exposure to a communicable disease.
Communicable Disease. A disease or condition, the infectious agent of which may be transmitted to and cause illness in a human being.
Communicable Disease. A. An employee who is absent because of contact with a communicable disease which requires isolation under the City Health Code, but who does not have the disease himself, shall be paid full salary for such time as the Health Commissioner of Baltimore City declares the staff member subject to isolation.
B. When an employee has contracted a communicable disease as defined above including Tuberculosis, Chicken Pox, Hepatitis and Measles and there exists a number of cases of that disease among those students with whom the employee has had direct contact, as determined by the School System’s Medical Officer, that employee shall suffer no loss of pay or accumulated sick leave for any days that the employee is absent from school. Prior to approval of this leave with pay, medical verification of the employee’s illness shall be required.
C. Tests required by the Board to vaccinate or diagnose such diseases shall be paid for by the Board.
Communicable Disease actual or alleged loss, liability, damage, compensation, injury, sickness, disease, death, medical payment, defence cost, cost, expense or any other amount, directly or indirectly and regardless of any other cause contributing concurrently or in any sequence, originating from, caused by, arising out of, contributed to by, resulting from, or otherwise in connection with a Communicable Disease or the fear or threat (whether actual or perceived) of a Communicable Disease. For the purposes of this exclusion, loss, liability, damage, compensation, injury, sickness, disease, death, medical payment, defence cost, cost, expense or any other amount, includes, but is not limited to, any cost to clean-up, detoxify, remove, monitor or test for a Communicable Disease. As used herein, a Communicable Disease means any disease which can be transmitted by means of any substance or agent from any organism to another organism where:
A. the substance or agent includes, but is not limited to, a virus, bacterium, parasite or other organism or any variation thereof, whether deemed living or not, and
B. the method of transmission, whether direct or indirect, includes but is not limited to, airborne transmission, bodily fluid transmission, transmission from or to any surface or object, solid, liquid or gas or between organisms, and
C. the disease, substance or agent can cause or threaten bodily injury, illness, emotional distress, damage to human health, human welfare or property damage.
Communicable Disease. (a) It is agreed that:
(1) there be active promotion for communicable disease control information, in particular Hepatitis B prevention and protocol, in individual workplaces.
(2) specifically, written information in addition to formal presentations utilizing guest speakers and audio visual materials, as appropriate should be provided.
(3) The Local Occupational Health and Safety Committee should coordinate these activities. Materials can be obtained directly from the Ministry of Health.
(b) Voluntary Hepatitis B immunization shall be provided by the Employer free of charge to the employees.
Communicable Disease. A. In the event an employee covered under this Agreement or his supervisor suspects that, as a result of the course of duty, he has been exposed to or is the carrier of a serious communicable disease; the employee may be relieved of duty without the loss of any pay or sick leave and shall be taken immediately to a local emergency hospital for diagnosis and treatment. It shall be the responsibility of the supervisor to determine if or when the employee is permitted to leave duty for this purpose.
B. Employees shall be provided with preventive measures designed to protect the employee against communicable diseases. These measures shall include, but are not limited to, medical procedures such as vaccines for Hepatitis, Flu, etc., blood tests, and Bodily Substance Isolation (BSI) such as, gloves, masks, and other products, equipment, and procedures that are intended to detect, prevent, or impede communicable disease. Participation in any medical procedures, such as vaccination and testing, shall be at the discretion of the employee and the Employer shall not be held responsible for any consequences to the employee as a result of the employee having or not having received any vaccinations or tests or his refusal to use BSI. This does not waive the employee’s rights under Workers’ Compensation.
Communicable Disease. The Employer agrees to take all possible safety precautions to deal with the threat of communicable diseases including adequate education of employees concerning the disease and provision of any available precautionary treatments. In addition to the above, the Employer agrees to provide in-service training for all employees working with communicable patients/clients.
Communicable Disease. If you should contract a communicable disease, you may be required to leave University Housing until you are no longer contagious. Medical directives are contingent upon public health conditions at the time of their implementation and are subject to change. The Residential Code of Conduct may be updated, and it is the Resident’s responsibility to stay current regarding campus requirements. NO WARRANTY. UNIVERSITY MAKES NO WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THE SAFETY OF THE PREMISES WITH REGARD TO ANY INFECTIOUS DISEASE. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. NEITHER THE UNIVERSITY, NOR ANY OF ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIMS OF LOSS, EXPENSE, OR DAMAGE TO RESIDENT RELATING TO THE ACQUISITION OF OR EXPOSURE TO ANY INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Communicable Disease. 1. No deduction in pay or sick leave time shall be made for employees absent by reason of quarantine or communicable disease caused by a member of his/her family or household, if supported by a certificate from a Health Department.
2. The regular sick leave policy deductions shall be applied where communicable disease is due to the illness of the employee.
