FIREFIGHTER RECRUIT. New “Firefighters” will be appointed to the class of Firefighter-Recruit for the duration of their academy training period. Advancement to Firefighter will be made upon successful completion of academy training and possession of a valid California Emergency Medical Technician – 1 (EMT – 1) certificate.
