FLEXIBILITY COMMITMENT. (a) The parties to this agreement are committed to promoting flexibility in the workplace, increasing efficiency and removing existing areas of demarcation. It is an expectation of both parties that these commitments be undertaken in the safest possible way, protecting both employees and Fonterra and ensuring that the law is complied with. While achieving these objectives, deskilling will not be promoted as part of this Agreement. (b) In meeting the above commitments the parties agree on a number of key principles: a) Provide a supportive and rewarding work environment and training; b) Provide opportunities for feedback and development; c) Provide a safe workplace; d) Support and encourage actions and behaviours that are consistent with Fonterra’s values and principles (a copy of which is attached at Appendix A); and e) Ensure that where an employee is required to undertake duties or use tools and equipment that these duties are within the limits of the employees’ skills, competence and training. a) Act in ways that are consistent with Fonterra’s Values and Principles; b) Commit to work with Fonterra on continuous improvement processes and to actively look for ways to enable to become more efficient and flexible; c) Work safely and look out for the safety of others; d) Remove demarcation within areas of work covered by the classifications appearing in this agreement.
