Common use of Float or Slack in the Schedule Clause in Contracts

Float or Slack in the Schedule. Float or slack is the amount of time between the early start date and the late start date, or the early finish date and the late finish date, of any of the activities in the schedule. Float or slack is not for the exclusive use of or benefit of either the District or the Developer, however it shall be used as necessary to accommodate delays in the progress of the Work which may occur during the course of construction, as determined by the District. Developer shall not be entitled to an extension of time for any claimed delays to the extent that such delays may be covered by the float.
